" I cater for all my son's expenses
and am able to save UGX 20000 daily
with a target of buying land by
the end of the year"
Christine narrates.

Christine dropped out of school at 16years due to unplanned pregnancy. After giving birth, her aunt took her to the city ( Kampala) to be a house help.

She later got employed as a shop attendant earning UGX 80,000 monthly, after six months of inconsistency in payment of her wage. She started a small restaurant with UGX 300000, After paying rent, she was left with Ugx 100000 which she used to buy fresh food and utensils and started.

Two years later , she noticed that the business couldn’t support her basic needs , house rent and school fees for the child. Worse still, she was unable to save anything. She learnt about the unsecured small business loans for young women like her at CETAFI. She borrowed UGX 200,000 which she used to renovate the restaurant.

She has since borrowed 5 times from CETAFI and is happy about the flexibility of paying daily making her instalment affordable. The loan has enabled her to send her child to school and keep the business afloat at the same time.

" I cater for all my son's expenses and am able to save UGX 20000 daily with a target of buying land by the end of the year" She explains.

Christine employs 2 girls who help her in running the business. She dreams of owning rental units and see her child through school.
